I've been getting fed up with exclusionary behaviour I've experienced in "indie" communities, both online and locally. These communities are still generally positive, but these behaviours (like sexism) make me feel like they're leaving people out. I'm angry, because I thought we were better; and we still can do better. I posted my thoughts over on Gamasutra.

This policy is an official statement on behalf of myself, David S Gallant, to anyone who seeks to record gameplay footage of my work (games) and upload them, with or without commentary, editing, additional visual or audio elements, to any of the various video hosting sites (YouTube, Vimeo, blip.tv, etc). If this is something that you do, awesome. If this is something that you do with one of my games, even awesomer.
So here's the thing: I give you permission to make videos, upload them, and even monetize them as you see fit. This covers all my games featured on my site, including all past and future releases. If one of my games features music from someone else, know that they are aware of this same policy and I've secured their permission for videos and monetization as well before incorporating their work into my own.
All I ask in return is that you let me know when you do a video. Drop me an email or send me a tweet with a link to your work. I love to watch this stuff, and to promote it! Just do me a favour and don't promote any ways of getting my paid games for free; we're all trying to get by with whatever money we can make, so let's both help each other.
